End user licence agreement

Seller: Ahmed Nasr, Egypt ("we"). Contact: [email protected].

1. What this is

This agreement covers the ANR software you downloaded, its updates and its documentation ("the Software"). By installing or using the Software you agree to it. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

2. Trial

Without a licence key the Software runs in full for 7 days from its first use on a computer. After that its output is watermarked until a licence key is entered, and the trackers, solvers and converters (the ANR Trackers pack) do nothing at all: they do not track, solve or export. The trial is for evaluation only: do not use trial output in delivered or paid work.

3. What a licence gives you

A licence is sold, not the Software itself. When you have paid and received a licence key, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the products named in that key:

  1. on the computer(s) named in the key, if it names any; or
  2. if it names none, by the one person or the one company it was issued to, on computers they use.

Commercial use is allowed. A licence lasts until the date in the key, or without end if the key has no date.

3a. Subscriptions

Licences are sold as subscriptions, yearly or monthly, for the whole pack or for single packs; a licence covers the packs it names. While the subscription is paid, the licence is renewed: the Software fetches the next licence from our licence service in the days before the current one ends, sending only that licence. If you cancel, the licence runs to the end of the period you paid for and is not renewed; after it ends, the Software's output is watermarked, as after the trial. Subscriptions are billed and managed by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller.

3b. Studio plan

A Studio subscription is per artist: each licence key activates one artist's computer. It also gives a render licence, which works on any number of the studio's own render machines, for rendering without the host's interface only, and only for the studio's own work. There is no limit on the number of render machines at one site. A render licence renders only: tracking, solving and exporting need an artist's licence.

4. What you may not do

  • Share, publish, sell, rent or lend the licence key or the Software.
  • Remove or get round the licence check, the trial or the watermark.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or modify the Software, except where the law gives you that right regardless of this agreement.
  • Remove copyright or licence notices.

5. Moving to another computer

A key locked to a computer works on that computer only. If you replace the computer, write to us and we will move the licence. There is no limit on how often a licence can be moved, but it works on one computer at a time.

6. Updates and support

While the subscription is paid, a licence covers version 1.x of the products it names, with every 1.x update. Version 2 will be free for active subscribers. Support is by email at the address above, on a best-effort basis.

7. Third-party components

The Software includes components made by others, under their own licences. These are listed in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES file that comes with the Software, and on the third-party notices page. Where such a licence gives you rights this agreement does not, that licence governs that component. Some of them carry conditions that pass on to you: in particular the SAM License (used by the Matte Creator) forbids military, weapons, nuclear, espionage and ITAR-controlled uses and reverse engineering of the SAM materials, and NVIDIA's components may not be redistributed on their own.

7a. AI models you download yourself

The Software is software that runs AI models. Some optional models (the "Research Models", listed on the research models page and in RESEARCH-MODELS.txt) are not part of the Software. We do not sell, license or distribute them, and the price you pay includes no right to use them. If you choose to use one, you download it yourself from its authors and accept their licence, which is an agreement between you and them, not with us. Those licences may forbid commercial use, including paid work and, in some cases, use of what the model produces. You are responsible for complying with them. Models that are included with the Software are covered by section 7.

8. Refunds

You can cancel a subscription at any time; it then ends at the end of the period paid for. Because the Software can be tried in full for 7 days first, payments are not refunded, except where the law requires otherwise. See refunds.

9. No warranty

The Software is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty of any kind, including that the Software is fit for a particular purpose or free of errors. You are responsible for checking its results before using them in your work.

10. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost data, missed deadlines or any indirect loss arising from the Software, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the licence.

11. Ending

This agreement ends if you break it. When it ends you must stop using the Software and delete your copies. Sections 4, 9 and 10 continue to apply.

12. Privacy

The licence check runs on your computer. To activate and to renew a subscription's licence, the Software sends our licence service your licence key or licence and your Machine ID (a code derived from your Windows installation), and nothing else: no data about your work, your shots or your scripts. See privacy.

13. Law

This agreement is governed by the law of Egypt. Any dispute goes to the courts of Cairo.

This agreement takes effect on the day ANR Tools first goes on sale.
